Voices not heard

I read this article a couple of days ago and it has stuck in my memory. It’s an account of growing up in a lower class family in Garhi Shahu; he must have been only a few years younger than me so there are points at which our worlds touched and others that are so far apart. Not that I was entirely unfamiliar with Garhi Shahu, it was a place my family used to go for Basant every year, though to the house of one of the wealthier families in the area.

Sad how strange it feels to read a voice from another class in Pakistan. The internet has been a great blessing in this. Tiktok is another such blessing, for all of its flaws.
