Unusual sociability, continued

I went for lunch with a relative of the Gentleman Friend, the sort of person who cares so hard that he doesn’t let himself feel it. His particular obsession is wildlife, and he is better travelled to see it than anyone else I know. It was a pleasant lunch; he had some advice about New Zealand, and we talked about Bulgaria as I read the book Borders some months ago.

Today was entirely packing day, and I have managed most of it now, I think. I had a rude shock when I looked at my end-of-month accounts, though; I have been rather extravagant, and a time of austerity is warranted.
