A brief excursion today, to the chemist on duty about 15 minutes away. The chemists here take turns to remain open on weekends and public holidays, a rather good system as you can always find out where to go. Of course it was a little crowded and there was a queue, and once inside I had to describe my ailment in a rather busy space, but there it is. Got what I wanted, I hope. We came back through Cihangir stopping for the GF to get some coffee along the way, but I was certainly feeling rather feeble.
The chemist was along Istiklal, and it is a lovely street when it’s not packed full of people and all the terrible shops are shut. I suppose many of these European streets are similar – your Oxford Streets and so on – so if the pandemic can be said to have had any benefit, it’s that even as these streets fall from life, you can see the buildings more clearly.
