My personal trainer, in Pakistan, told me, wide-eyed, that it’s such a strange coincidence, all of my clients seem to know each other!
Such is class in Pakistan, especially Lahore. I didn’t say it, as a small tentacle of the octopus, but:
- Even today, amidst complaints about the nouveau riche, the Pakistani and especially Lahori, elite is miniscule and everyone is related or knows each other
- Few will admit to not knowing a name that is mentioned because:
- they might know them and have forgotten
- one can’t admit to not knowing someone as it implies being less well connected*
* An exception here being those who are too well connected to admit to knowing anyone at all. Other people know them.
