The Gentleman Friend is in Johor Bahru for work, I took today and yesterday to continue preparations for the wedding. Yesterday I went down to Brickfields to a tailor to stitch the blouse. And today I decided (on the tailor’s advice) that instead of a satiny silk I should have a chiffon blouse and went back to Masjid India to find the material. Happily, I found a shop with better quality than the last (and prices that aren’t suspiciously low) and got not the best but the second-best chiffon. If the stitching is any good then I’ll get a few more – another in black, one or two in gold and so on. Breakfast and lunch were both throwbacks to past times: breakfast was a paneer sandwich (a favourite in my teens) and lunch was basmati rice with yoghurt (a favourite in my single-digits). Something more grownup is in order for dinner, but I’m not sure what it’ll be.
