Last weekend in Taiwan

Today was our last Sunday here and we visited a few favourite spots: the Matzu, Confucius, Koxinga and God of War temples, a stop at Kaffun for coffee, and of course collecting our pre-ordered cake from the bakery downstairs. We also popped into the Lady Lishui temple, which is dedicated to childbirth and indeed, in its riotous ornament there were countless images of young children with their mothers, and several very pregnant women praying. Perhaps the loveliest spot in Tainan is the rear courtyard of the God of War temple, where the graceful swallow-tail roofs are silhouetted at all angles against the sky and the surrounding modern buildings, so we lingered there for a bit.

A little sad to be be leaving, to get to the point where there is nothing to look forward to whilst here, as what is to come will come after we leave.
