Lady Lala’s mother is in town, so I met her and Lady Lala’s KL friend for lunch at Kenny Hill. We had the duck rice again, and I enjoyed it rather less than before, it was fine I guess. The last time I had it was before the GF went to Dhaka, which feels like a forever ago. Lady Lala’s brother is soon visiting KL as well, so I will see him and his wife (and baby) for lunch one day.
Although the KL friend moved here only a year ago, much less time than me, she is infinitely more competent at navigating life. So I got from her the number of a curtain cleaning service, which I had been halfheartedly thinking about.
I am thoroughly enjoying Max Gladstone’s Craft books. They are clever and funny and full of great ideas, and even quite well written and plotted. I also like that they are interlinked but standalones, one gets to explore far more of the world. One has to admire his ambition, so many of the images are basically walking tattoos – think skeletons wreathed in roses. Great fun. I’m on the penultimate book and feeling rather sad that I will have to wait for future books.
