Focus, focus

Work is growing critical and today, finally, I managed to spend a good bit of time and write several chapters. Still less than halfway, but I think I might be able to finish the first draft by the end of tomorrow.

Aside from work, today the GF and I took a short break for coffee and to sample the wares of a new bakery. We bought a loaf of bread in the hope that it is as good, or nearly as good, as our usual, which is delicious but has to have an order placed for delivery. The signals are mixed: on one hand, it is less heavy than I like, on the other hand, the inside looks good. But I had far too much bread with breakfast this morning, so I haven’t yet tried it.

We had no food in the house except for some leftover beans from last night so the GF had those and I ordered a durum from a well known local place. Unfortunately they had a minimum order so I had to order two. They were very nice, but it was definitely far too much food, so I am skipping dinner.

I have started reading Ishiguro’s The Buried Giant and am loving it so far.

And that is it, really.
