Fiddly couple of days

A couple of days of fiddling around at work. A few short edits, of various types, filling out an application, doing some sample edits, that sort of thing. It was not particularly satisfying work as none of it gave a sense of completion or at least of getting a decent payment for it.

I’ve also agreed to join the board of a new magazine, which will be released in the coming weeks. It’s supposed to combine an academic and a non-academic perspective on its subject, let’s see how it goes. I think it’s a good idea and, with some luck and effort, could be extremely interesting, though probably always dependent on external funding.

Today we go to Sun Moon Lake for the weekend, the GF and I plus our flatmates. I wasn’t terribly keen on the idea, as I quite liked the thought of everyone else being away while I had the flat – and the keys – to myself, able to come in and out as I wanted, etc. But that would have been rather hard to argue, so I’m going along, with computer so I have an excuse for solitude.
