Dumpling day

Today was the dragon boat festival so we had rice dumplings in memory of the old poet who was thrown into the river for speaking up against corruption and the people of the town scattered rice dumplings into the water so the fish would not eat his body. Annoyingly, when the Boddhisattva brought the dumplings, she revealed also that they were from a market that the GF and I had not known existed, a five minute walk away and with excellent produce. It made us both very grumpy as we had too often been forced to buy inferior produce from the supermarket. We took a quick look at the market and it was very nice, and made us even grumpier.

Then to Dwaco, for our final coffee there. A lovely little cafe. Not the best coffee, though very good, not the best cakes, though very good, but a lovely environment, a wonderful owner, and the most tasteful decor and clothing I can think of. I wish I had an eye like that.

Tomorrow is our final day in Taipei; on Saturday we leave.
