Clients return

A client call this morning, for a promising new project. Fingers crossed it works out better than Skype. Emails are starting to come in from clients, particularly the academic ones as they are clearly using the summer to finish up papers left hanging in end of term duties.

In the afternoon we went to see the flat, not expecting much to have changed. Indeed it looked about the same as before, maybe another coat or two of paint, but suddenly the door opened and the contractor and his son arrived with the parquetry. Very exciting, and it looked lovely in the afternoon light. As it should, considering how much the damned thing cost.

All afternoon and evening though, I was a little prickly and on edge, not least because of the flat and its slow progress, and because the family wedding for which I have to return to Pakistan keeps changing dates and plans.
