Bulldozing

We rather ruthlessly bulldozed our contractor and architect, so today and yesterday a lot of work has been going on in the flat. Today, the plumber was there and installed the longer gas pipe, as well as the bidet and the various taps, so aside from actual hot water, all sanitary equipment is now up and running. The white goods were installed, though with two small hitches: the electrical point for the kitchen hob wasn’t live and the gas company won’t switch on the gas till tomorrow. But when that is done, there is really no particular reason we couldn’t move in, aside from the thick layer of dust, of course.

Luckily I noticed that instead of a bottle trap the plumber had put in a cheap plastic pipe under the sink, so we went down to the hardware bazaar to get the right item. Which turned out to be rather pricey, but since we don’t plan to have a closed cabinet (or at least I don’t – the GF is more open to it) the plastic pipe is no good.

Then back via coffee and a quick stop at a supermarket to get dishwasher tablets.
