Several days without posting! And I only remembered during the night. There was more to write of, too, during the past few days, though of course that is related to my failure to post. A brief summary of the past days:
12 April: Finished work early, took the day to do some present shopping. A miserable failure, as usual.
13 April: Flying to Lahore. Sat next to a kind but talkative woman who gave me proper culture shock. I just don’t meet that many female members of the urban dwelling moral middle classes, I suppose; their husbands quite often at work but the women tend not to move in the same circles.
14 April: First day in Lahore. Much time spent working, hanging out with father and grandmother. Also my by-now-usual way of rousing the maids and getting the house properly cleaned.
15 April: Today. Listened to grumblings from grandmother about how her bank doesn’t give her special terms when she’s family. It wasn’t like that with her father’s bank. Also a couple of good partition stories that I must remember for future use.
