Recovery time
Sunday today, and recovery time after the ordeals of the past days. We took the ferry to Balat, had a coffee and walked back. And that is all. This cleared my head enough to make me think, let’s not move in at the end of the month so the GF won’t have to live a […]
Epic
A really epic day. When the GF rose we had a quick lunch and then walked down to the pier to take the ferry to Uskudar, from where to take the metro over to Ikea. Only to find that the ferries were not running due to races, so the only part of the day we […]

Another milestone to middle age reached (after the gratification a few days ago at rising house prices) as the GF and I subscribed to the Financial Times and I have started reading it every morning. It is an excellent newspaper and very refreshing after the Guardian. The line it takes is clear and it seems […]
Fabio on a balcony
One of our neighbouring flats has been taken by a Fabio lookalike. He has flowing leonine locks, a perpetually bare and well-formed chest, and a tattoo on his arm. He sits on his balcony in the mornings and occasionally shakes out his hair.
