The place we’re staying in Jambiani is one of those that looks really good on Airbnb, and has all that is advertised, but is just dinghier, darker and has other defects that are hard to identify without seeing the place. One is that our rooms are set up so that air circulation is quite blocked off, and the mosquito net is a necessity which also blocks the air of the fan. So we haven’t had mmore than 3-4 good nights of sleep, and last night was definitely one of the worst as it was very still anyway so we were both covered in sweat.
The owner of the place, and the staff are very nice, but I wish there was a better fan, and mosquito netting on the door so we could leave it open at night.
Well, tomorrow we leave for Stone Town. I’ve started dreaming of that joyous place, the Bali Airport Hotel. I doubt our Stone Town place will have similar bland, clean comfort, but it should be more congenial thna this.
We walked south along the beach for dinner, a couple of kilometers down. The number of kite surfers is very high around here, thanks to the steady trade winds, and south seems to be where the experts are, or at least we saw few learners and many people swooping like they knew what they were doing. Dinner was mediocre but the walk was nice.
