The GF’s workplace has cancelled our residency visas, of course, which is perfectly reasoanbly. The annoying thing is, they have cancelled them effective his last day of work, following which we would be overstaying our visas. It’s all very well for him, as he is going to London during that time and can return on a tourist visa, but since I’m not going anywhere I have had to apply for a visa till the end of May. Hmph.
So this afternoon I walked over to the GF’s office to hand in my passport for the visa. It was hot and my psoriasis loathes heat and sweat, so it was not a comfortable walk, and I arrived in a terrible mood (I had first spent 1/2 hour trying to order a Grab but didn’t manage due to the Friday rush, plus one driver cancelling after making me wait over 10 minutes). Then it turned out the GF’s meeting was running over so I waited for 40 minutes, which really didn’t improve my mood. Eventually he emerged, very apologetic, and we went for lunch to his usual spot. I was pleased to go as I had never been and I like seeing the places where he spends his time. We had tasty Balinese rice and chicken, plus a salad, and then split a banoffee cake that was actually (I think) a coffee walnut cake but appalling either way so we had that taken off the bill. So, much revived, I tried to order a cab back, to no avail. So another walk back in the heat and dust, but this was easier as I was no longer grumpy and hungry.
