After last night’s consultation I caved and returned to the hospital seeking a doctor. It was not easy as walking is difficult and my hands are rather grotesque at the moment. Nevertheless I made it there by taxi, to a nice older woman with an interpreter. She is a dermatologist so was more interested in root causes, and gave me a prescription and told me to come back in a week. That will be just before we go away on our holiday, so hopefully the immediate treatment at least will have worked, though it would be nice to find out the root causes as well. I do suspect a weird reaction to the vaccine, though, or rather that the vaccine caused existing eczema to go haywire.
Anyway, since the chemist is on a steep hill above the hospital I decided to just walk there for my prescription and then up the hill to Taksin Square and take the Metro back instead of faffing around with taxis. I can’t say it was a pleasant journey but seem to have returned unharmed so that is something.
And am now setting up my cunning backup system to prevent the disasters of the past days from recurring.
