Adventures in e-commerce

A day of rearranging. The GF’s parent arrives tonight for six weeks so I cleared out the room and its wardrobe and had the bed made, and so on. I’m now without a study which would not be a significant hassle had it not been that my computer has still not arrived so my old computer has to stay plugged in at all times. Damn Lenovo Malaysia and damn UPS.

My tale of e-commerce misfortunes continued as I had ordered a tofu press to help me make paneer. It was on its way from China and showed every sign of arriving before the computer though it was ordered much later. Yesterday I got a message saying that it had been delivered so I went to collect it from the concierge to find a suspiciously small packet. I opened it to find the item in the photo. Whatever it is, it is certainly not a tofu press, nor is it worth 20 ringgit. I tried slicing tofu with it, but it was unable to do even that.

Well, I got a refund and will try again. This is the brave new world of buying stuff direct from China after all.
