I threw a little strop today, when I thought that the fixture for the wall mounted taps had been incorrectly fitted as a counter-mounted fixture. This turned out to be incorrect – it was properly installed, but simmering discontent remains as several other things we’d specified have not been done, such as a heated towel rail, the point at which the marble ends, what sort of bidet fitting to use, etc. I think I should have been more proactive, made specification lists etc. Well, I know this for next time.
In any case, after work we went over to the flat where the ceiling has been painted and the baby doves are starting to look like American college graduates living in their parents’ basement. The weather has turned though, as a cold front is sweeping over the city, so I can’t blame them.
The contractor was there, sitting in the tea shop on the ground floor and he told us that we can install our kitchen cabinets next week. It seems a bit ambitious, but we’ll go this weekend to place the order. Then, we put in a deposit on a set of bedsheets, looked for taps and failed, bought a bar of chocolate and other essentials, including a change from my beloved tarama on toast for breakfast to a venture into Circassian chicken.
Coffee, and back to do some more work and also struggling with invoicing. It is quite chilly.
