We leave for Yogyakarta today, earlier than I thought. The flight is at 1500; I had thought we were to leave for the airport then. Of course, some work has come in and I won’t finish before leaving, so my computer accompanies me so I can work on the flight.
I am not sure what to expect at Yogyakarta – a tourist hellhole of touts and so on, or a laid back city of art and culture. Well, it’s not impossible to have both. As a Pakistani I am quite good at ignoring touts, though being accompanied by white folks (ie marks) makes it harder.
We have started watching The Americans. It is supposed to get good in its later seasons, but right now it is ridiculous. I fear it’ll be a Game of Thrones style hatewatch for me. Though the acting is, thus far, better.
