Today was my last day of committing to full-time work for one of my clients, which means that from actual 1.5 or 2x work I can go down to roughly full time when all my clients are accounted for. So, looking forward to that, though the large payments were nice.
I tried the local interpretation of chicken tikka today. It was quite nice, once I released all expectation of it being like an actual (Pakistani) tikka. It didn’t have any heat, really, and was covered in a sort of sauce, plus the cut was different. But it was quite tasty, and I was in definite need of animal protein.
We also went to the supermarket and the vegetable stalls to stock up for the next few days, coming back with, among other things, several jars of dried pineapple and mango.
And that was it, really, other than work, the usual evening walk along the beach (this time only one person hassled us, and he was not the threatening kind), dinner, and an episode of Succession accompanied by tiramisu.
We may go off to the Netherlands for a month or so this summer. Let’s see. It would be nice to go to Amsterdam, but it is very expensive so more likely we’ll go to a smaller town.
