Day 2 was marginally better than day 1, in that I found some work to do, but not much. In the evening I had a pleasant chat with the chief editor of our magazine. We are discussing how to set up a charity to accept small payments for workshops etc, so that the magazine can start paying for itself, or at least for the website, a little bit of social media, and honoraria for writers.
Then, around 2230, a report I was supposed to submit by the next morning arrived, along with a polite but clearly rather upset email about some changes which had been forced onto me by the commissioning organisation. So I wrote back telling them to take it up with the commissioners – another delight of consultancy life – finished the edit and there we are.
Summer is winding to a close. My toes are cold.
