Back to work after a long weekend with more activity than usual. I’m still stiff from Bukit Tabur. We booked our flights to Dili over the weekend, though there is some concern that a volcano in Bali, where the flights connect, may disrupt our plans. Well, too late to worry about it; it was even too late for travel insurance as Gunung Agung has been restless for weeks. Timor Leste is the last of the South East Asian countries for us to visit aside from Papua New Guinea (not really SE Asian), Myanmar (ethical reservations due to near-genocide) and China itself.
I would like to return to Indonesia especially, I think it’s one of the most interesting places in the world.
My duct-taped trainers finally fell apart on Bukit Tabur. I will have to buy a new pair and am considering a 10 ringgit pair of Adidas Kampung instead of another 100 pound pair of barefoot trainers.
