No phones

Both of our phones have turned over and died due to various tedious reasons.

Ah well, we did without mobile phones for half my life, and without data for three-quarters, so I daresay we’ll manage.

It was a working day for me, though the GF ran a few errands and then I met him in Chiangir for coffee and a few purchases, including a Turkish coffee grinder which will serve as a pepper grinder. Unfortunately they were out, but have promised to have one for us next week. We also bought some tarama, which is my favourite breakfast item these days, spread on sourdough and with a squeeze of lemon.

We have received some bids for the renovation. All very exciting and a bit nerve-wracking. I’m most worried about overrun – in my admittedly limited experience these things always run over the cost and both I and the GF are prone to over-spending on luxury in a way that would be foolish for a flat that we won’t keep forever.
