It’s the hottest May on record, says our Chinese language teacher. It is immensely hot and the flat has no movement of air. Our room has a large glassed bay window which gets full sun in the mornings, while the other rooms are dark. In the evening the thermostat in the bedroom reads 28 degrees, at night it goes up to 30, with little movement of air even with a fan. Lahore of course gets hotter, but there less going out and about in Lahore, whether or not it is hot.
The papers today are full of news of much of Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and several other countries along that belt becoming unnhabitable or uncultivable for people within 50 years. The climate continues to change.
