We had our Mandarin test this morning. Both of us passed with exactly the same number of wrong answers, though slightly different marks as the weighting was different. We preened a little at scoring in the high 80s until our teacher mentioned that the pass mark was 75%. Well, it’s done. I haven’t had a test in a while, not since my project management certification about five years ago.
It has become very hot and stuffy, so that we put on the air conditioner for a bit and even so the temperature refused to fall below 26 degrees. Luckily we are a hardy pair and loathe air conditioning.
The coronavirus lockdowns continue to loosen around the world. In Pakistan the government has released an app which has been promptly downloaded by one and all. The government is proud that it uses technology donated by the ISI. Quite a contrast to all the hemming and hawing in the UK about the privacy implications of similar apps.
