This morning the Boddhisattva and I rose early and went off to breakfast at Fuhang, the most famous breakfast place in the country and which usually has queues of an hour or more. Thank you global pandemic, the queue was only 10 minutes this Sunday morning and soon we had our bowls of soy milk and you tiao, plus their special green onion buns. The savoury soy milk was absolutely delicious, more like a loose undrained tofu with sesame oil, coriander and preserved vegetables and a little topping of youtiao. Quite delicious. After this mighty meal we went to flower market again which was looking very fine. It was by now approaching midday, but the plants wre still fresh and there were a few lovely stalls, one of densely packed bougainvillea in all colours, another of the kind of orchids that hang down, so there were cascades upon cascades of flowers. We bought two bunches, one for each vase: some lilies and some roses and returned.
In the afternoon the GF and I decided to go for cake near Gongguan, a very good decision as the cakes were superb despite the wait and the requirement of drinking a pot of overpriced and frankly mediocre French tea. (All French tea is mediocre and overpriced). It was a popular spot and the waiter was very apologetic that they were down to their last three cakes. Then dinner at a local sushi place and tomorrow is going to be a very busy day as I did not do any work this weekend as I had planned.
