The Gentleman Friend has convinced me, and I’ve bought myself a small selection of technical sportswear. It’s Lululemon, so more yoga than hardcore, but I had never been convinced of the virtues of lycra and polyester. The t-shirt, bought for future jungle hikes and so on, is extremely comfortable and airy, though, and with it I’ve bought a pair of running shorts that I intend to wear beneath hiking trousers so that I can, with these and a sports bra, go straight into water if need be. Changing in and out of swimwear is always a challenge in jungle walks and hopefully this will make it easier.
